For Solicitors & Commercial Law Firms

Specialist Trade Mark Support for Solicitors and Law Firms

Give your clients access to specialist trade mark expertise without needing to build that capability in-house. Tennant IP works with solicitors and commercial law firms that need specialist trade mark support for their clients. Led by Chartered Trade Mark Attorney Mike Tennant, we can work alongside your firm, provide specialist advice behind the scenes or accept a direct referral where that is the preferred arrangement. The aim is simple: to give your clients the trade mark expertise they need while supporting the relationship and trust you have already built with them.

A complementary role

Your client relationship matters

Tennant IP's role is to complement the advice and services your firm already provides, not to compete for the wider client relationship.

We agree the most appropriate way of working at the outset. Depending on the matter, that can include a direct referral, collaborative advice alongside your team or appropriate behind-the-scenes support.
Flexible working models

Ways we can work with your firm

Direct referral

Introduce the client to Tennant IP for the specialist trade mark element while your firm continues to advise on the wider commercial or legal matter.

Collaborative advice

Tennant IP works alongside your solicitor or commercial team where trade mark issues form part of a wider transaction, dispute, rebrand or business project.

Behind-the-scenes support

We can provide specialist trade mark input to your team where it is appropriate for the advice to be delivered through your firm.

Selected white-label support

Tennant IP can provide selected work, such as filing proposals and advice notes, for an associate firm to present as part of its own client service. White-label working is not generally appropriate for registry, tribunal or court matters where Tennant IP's details would need to appear formally as the representative or address for service.
